Alarm Registration
All security alarm systems must be registered annually with SAPD ($40 fee, payable in person at SAPD headquarters). Unregistered alarms triggered by mistake incur a minimum $250 fine, with higher fines for repeated offenses. Renewal notices are sent by mail. Parking at headquarters is costly; consider visiting during off-peak hours or use metered parking two blocks away (near La Quinta on Market Street). Check out the SA Website for more information.
